See Gray Whales as they pass by Santa Monica Bay and Palos Verdes on their migrate south. Dolphins and Sea Lions are also numerous.

Our Whale Migration season is December 15th through April 15th, Monday through Thursday. Special arrangements can be made for field trips on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Your class will board The Marina Flyer at Fisherman's Village in Marina Del Rey for an unforgettable trip searching for coastal marine life. Several hands-on projects will be given to students, teaching them about whales, dolphins, sea lions, seals, and coastal birds. They will learn how to do a scientific sight survey as well as keep a field journal.

Field Trips are scheduled in either morning or afternoon for about 2 1/2 hours. We can adjust times to meet your requirements. Field Trips leave from Marina Del Rey's Fisherman's Village in front of El Torito Restaurant. Our office is just past the blue/white lighthouse in parking lot, just 50 yards from the boat. Easy bus parking and plenty of car parking (free for first two hours).

The "Marina Flyer" is a brand-new 85-foot high-speed catamaran, U.S. Coast Guard approved for 149 passengers. It is extremely stable because of its catamaran design and 36-foot beam. Because of its speed, up to 32 knots, we can get to the whale-watching area very quickly and spend more time observing the whale behavior.
